I called Sherri for help with my bedroom closet. I couldn’t find anything. Nothing fit.  I had no clue what was even in there!

Sherri came over for three hours and we ended up cleaning out the old unused things in my closet and replacing them with things I use everyday.  We even ended up cleaning out my dressers.  When we were done, I even donated my one dresser because I didn’t need it anymore.  I actually had room to spare.  In my tiny bedroom, that was great!  I feel like I can breathe again.  I even know what I have and where it is!

My game room was a disaster area.  We never even played games in there anymore.  I needed someone to come in and help me physically.  Just looking in that room was utterly exhausting.  We sorted through all the years of accumulation (that was me, holding on to my children’s youth, mainly). Then we set things up so that we do use our game room.  All the things that we still use are right where we need them.  All the excess accumulation is gone.  I loved the fact that she took my unused items to be donated.  It was so much easier letting go, knowing that someone else might have years of fun with stuff that is just collecting dust at our house.  It kind of makes the objects live on in there own sort of way.  Thank you, Sherri.  And, “Yes, we all put the games away when we are done.  Now that they all have a home!

Sherri has always been the most organized person I know.  When she says she wants to organize something, I always volunteer my space.  We have organized my kitchen, my bathroom, my bedroom and even my kid’s room.  I remember calling her in a panic when my kids had been sick, I just had a birthday party at my house, and my grandmother was coming in from Florida to stay for the summer.  Grandma was supposed to stay in the office/playroom/guest bedroom.  I had just thrown everything from the house into that room on top of the already unorganized mess.  Grandma was supposed to be here in three days and you couldn’t even tell there was a bed or a desk in there!  Sherri came over and helped me sort, purge and put away everything that was in there.  I could see my desk again. We even fixed the bookshelf that was falling over and the wall shelf that was falling off.  Grandma had a nice guest bedroom to stay in.  Everything that we took out either was donated, trashed or put where it belonged.  In four hours!

When my husband and I got a divorce, he put everything of mine into storage at one of those facilities with the garage doors.  I knew that there were a lot of things in there but I just couldn’t go through it all by myself.  When Sherri and I opened up that door, I was amazed at how much stuff was in there.  We couldn’t even get the door open at first. It was packed to the top.  I was feeling like, “We are never going to get this done!”  In four hours, the storage facility was empty.  Sherri took the donations to the Salvation Army and I took my prized possessions home with me.  I think that she actually enjoyed helping me.  That made it so much more bearable.  I couldn’t have done it without her!

My garage was a mess.  I had everything everywhere.  Sherri came in and set up systems that work for me.  Everything has a home and it’s not on the floor.  I can see my tools.  I can easily roll my creeper around without having anything under my wheels.  My wife and kids can even find what they need without asking me.

Organize Your Life came to straighten up my kitchen.  Now I have pans near the stove, soap near the sink and food in only three cupboards.  Before, there was really no specific place for things. Now we have put things where I use them.  It is a lot easier to remember where they go that way too.  We installed a piece of carpet near the door to catch all of the water from the front entrance.  I was always mopping that area.  I even have a recycle center and use it every day!  I was so proud of my “new” kitchen; I even bought new towels and washcloths that match! Donating the old ones of course.

I had Organize Your Life come over and help with my files.  I am a single guy and had no idea what to keep and what not to.  She helped me with setting up a fire and water proof safe for all my valuable papers.  I didn’t even know they existed.  I even received a print-out of what papers to keep for how long.  All my folders are labeled in my words so I know where to find them.  It makes it so much easier to keep records.  Not to mention keeping them safe.
